PURPOSE: To enable running information to be easily read by superposing it with the visual field of a driver, by a method wherein the three-dimentional position of the eyes of a driver is detected, and running information is displayed as a picture on a front glass by means of a display means depending upon the detecting position.
CONSTITUTION: A three-dimentional position recognizing device, which recognizes the position of the eyes of a driver is constituted such that it is provided with a picture detector, including a running strobo 2, irradiating a driver 31 from the front, and a pair of two-dimentional cameral parts 3a and 3b, which are both disposed in an instrument panel 34a in a car room, and an electronic computing circuit whch processes a picture and recognizes the three-dimentional position of the eyes of a driver. An output signal from the recognizing device is inputted to an information display control means together with an output signal from a vehicle running condition detecting means, such as vehicle wheel speed sensors 8 and 9, a steering sensor 10, an inclining angle sensor 12. This controls varous information to be displayed as a picture on a liquid crystal board 16, located on a front glass, according to the recognized position of the eyes of a driver.
