PURPOSE: To enable the feed of paper in two perpendicular directions, by opening holes in two mutually perpendicular sides of the bottom of a paper feed cassette and providing a bottom plate which is located on the bottom of the cassette and has a fulcrum near at least one of the other sides of the bottom.
CONSTITUTION: A cassette case 5 is made square, preferably. Two holes 6a, 6b are opened in two mutually perpendicular sides of the bottom of the case 5 so that the holes extend in the bottom and side walls of the case. Small holes 7a, 7b, 8a, 8b are opened in the bottom of the case 5 near the other two mutually perpendicular sides in which the holes 6a, 6b are not located. A bottom plate 9, which is put in the case 5, is provided with legs 10a, 10b, 11a, 11b on two mutually perpendicular sides so that the legs can be loosely fitted in the small holes 7a, 7b, 8a, 8b. When the case 5 is set in a changed direction of fitting in a copying machine, the plate 9 is inclined in one of two perpendicular directions, with the legs 10a, 10b or 11a, 11b as fulcra.
