Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form a colored zirconia sintered material having high strength and clear color of black or a dark color of almost black by combining ZrO2, stabilizer, Mn3O4, Al2O3 and at least a species of oxide selected from CoO, Cr2O3, Fe2O3 and TiO2 in a specific ratio.

CONSTITUTION: The aimed black-system zirconia sintered material is composed of 98-67mol% ZrO2, 1.5-26mol% stabilizer, 0.3-1.5mol% MnO4/3, 0.1-3.5mol% Al2O3 and 0.1-2.0mol% at least a species of oxide selected from CoO, Cr2O3, Fe2O3 and TiO2. Besides, said sintered material is obtained by following method: namely, a Mn compound giving an oxide after sintering, Al2O3 or an Al compound giving Al2O3 after sintering and at least a species of compound selected from a group of Co compound, Cr compound, Fe compound and Ti compound giving oxide by sintering are added to zirconia powder containing stabilizer and molded, then sintered.
