Abstract:
PURPOSE:To decrease the vibration torque of a synchronous motor at the starting time and to reduce the leakage magnetic flux between poles at the synchronous operation time by providing a drive mechanism which varies a gap between a lump pole and a magnetic ring. CONSTITUTION:An annular ring 2 which magnetically couples poles through a gap G is arranged at the axial end face of a lumped pole 1. This ring 2 is supported by a bush 10 which is provided at a protection cover 8 through a ring support 9. The ring 2 is moved to vary the gap G by a drive mechanism 13 which has a rack 11 and a pinion 12. The ring 2 is approached to the end face of the pole 1 at the starting time, and the ring 2 is separated from the end face of the pole 1 at the synchronous operation time.
