PURPOSE: To detect the presence or absence of the broken mouth of a bottle by pressing a contact provided with an air hole to the mouth edge of the bottle to detect whether air is flowed between the contact and the mouth edge of the bottle.
CONSTITUTION: An outside cylinder 6, an inside cylinder 18, and a rod 27 are allowed to fall, and a contact 43 provided with an air hole 42 connected to an air hole 35 in the center is fitted into a mouth edge (c) of a bottle (a), and a synthetic resin layer 45 of its conical face is brought closely into contact with the mouth edge (c) and is pressed to the mouth edge (c) by charging of a compression coil spring 31. In this state, pressurized air is packed in the bottle (a) from a pressurized air source 39. If no breaks exist on the mouth edge (c) of the bottle (a), the pressure in the bottle (a) rises to the same pressure as the pressurized air source 39 because the mouth edge (c) is closed by the contact 43. This pressure rise is detected by a pressure sensor 40.
