PURPOSE: To obtain an optical connector of simple constitution which deflects an optical path at right angles and has superior precision and productivity by providing a light guide as an optical-path deflecting means to the right-angled surface of a connector body wherein optical transmission line cross each other at right angles.
CONSTITUTION: A couple of connector couplers 2 are inserted fixedly into the orthogonal crossing through holes of the connector body 1 made of an L-sectioned metallic block, and optical fiber connectors 5 are fixed to the connector couplers 2 through cap nuts 51. On the other hand, the optical guide 3 having an optical waveguide 33 is adhered fixedly to inward orthogonal surfaces 13 and 14 of the connector body 1, and covered with a cover 4. Light transmitted through one optical fiber is deflected at right angles through the optical waveguide 33 to enter the other optical fiber, wherein the light is transmitted. Consequently, the optical connector of simple constitution which deflects the optical path at right angles and has superior precision and productivity is obtained.
