PURPOSE: To rotate and transport a cylinder in contact with a guide plate disposed along a rotatable taper roller for flying extraneous matter away from the cylinder.

CONSTITUTION: A cylinder 60 is rotated and transported in contact with a rotating taper roller 27 and a guide plate 27 disposed along the taper roller 27 on one side of the roller 27, thereby to fly extraneous matter away from the outer peripheral surfce of the cylinder 60. Further, a fluid may be sprayed to the whole surface of the cylinder 60 or the cylinder may be washed.
