PURPOSE: To protect the titled recording medium from dirt, flaw and dust, to prevent a recording layer from deterioration or deformation and to improve CN ratio and contrast by forming the recording layer and a protecting layer consisting of an organic high molecular material and a plasticizer as main components on a base body.

CONSTITUTION: The titled recording medium is constituted by the base body 1, the recording layer 2 and the protecting layer 3. The recording layer 2 is formed on the base body by using evaporation, sputtering or application method in accordance with the properties of used components and the protecting layer 3 is formed by using a high molecular material and a plasticizer as essential components, adding other additives if necessary and applying a solution obtained by dissolving or dispersing these components in an organic solvent to the recording layer. Although one kind of plasticizer or the combination of two kinds or more can be used, about 10W80% to the whole weight of the protecting layer is proper as the using quantity of the plasticizer.
