PURPOSE: To provide the titled food containing the concentrate of the root and/or the whole grass of dropwort (Oenanthe storonifra, DC) as an essential component, and useful for the promotion and restoration of health, e.g. activation of hepatic function, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The concentrate of the root and/or the whole grass of dropwort is used as an essential component. The concentrate can be prepared by washing the root, etc. with water, and concentrating by using conventional process such as carbonization, distillation, extraction, freeze-drying, etc. In the case of extraction, a solvent suitable for food, e.g. ethyl alcohol, is used as the solvent. Dropwort contains large amounts of essential oil component, vitamin A, C, calcium, etc. in the leaf, and the concentrate of the root and/or the whole grass has mild analgesic and sedative activity, hepatic function activation effect by antiallergic activity, stomachache mitigation effect, skin fairing effect, activity to heal the stiffness in the shoulders, and tranquillizing effect.
