PURPOSE: To perform the detection of the position of a moving body and the control of its movement by a relatively simple constitution, by projecting a light beam to the moving body in following its movement, and detecting the angle of the projection.
CONSTITUTION: A laser beam generating device 20A comprises a laser beam generator, a following mirror, a step motor, an angle detector, a half mirror, a light sensor, and the like. Two laser beam generating devices 20A are arranged at the appropriate positions of, e.g., a building, so as to face a crab 4 with a specified distance being provided. Laser beams are projected on a corner cube 10, which is provided on the crab 4. The laser beams, which are reflected by the corner cube 10, are detected by the light sensors, and the rotations of the following mirrors are controlled. Then, the projecting angles α and β of the laser beams and the separating distance between the laser beam generating devices 20A are imparted to an operator. Thus the position of the corner cube 10, i.e., the position of the crab 4 can be detected.
