Title:
OVERRUNNING CLUTCH FOR STARTING ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5854233
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To surely prevent a friction loss of power due to rubbing action in a one-way clutch, by holding a certain gap between a clutch inner and clutch outer of the one-way clutch. CONSTITUTION:A flange 8 is protrusively provided in one end part of a cylindrical shaft 6, secured to a crankshaft 1 of an engine, and a clutch inner 9, driven by a starter motor 5, is rotatably supported on the cylindrical shaft 6. A clutch outer 12 is fitted to the periphery of the clutch inner 9 through a clutch roller 14. The flange 8 is fitted to a centering hollow part 16, formed to one side surface of the clutch outer 12, to hold a gap 17 between said hollow part and the flange. The starter motor is operated, if a driven gear 11 is rotated in a regular direction of the crankshaft 1, the roller 14 is guided by the clutch inner 9 to the shallow side of a wedge groove 13 to cause a bite, and the inner and outer 9, 12 can be connected. After starting, the gap 17 is surely provided never to cause friction resistance in rotary motion of the crankshaft 1.
