PURPOSE: To select out the beginning of any program quickly when it is ordered that the beginning of the program is selected out from an information recording disc where signals of plural programs are recorded, by reproducing a desired program signal while reading out only a unit signal belonging to the desired program signal from each group.

CONSTITUTION: In case of recording, one-field components of video signal having the same frame position and the same field position in respective video signals of programs, namely, unit signals are defined as one group. That is, signals an(1), bn(1), and cn(1) or signals an(2), bn(2), and cn(2) are defined as one group. Video signals in each group are recorded on the video disc in accordance with the frame order and the field order. In case of reproduction, the video disc is reproduced in the triple-speed reproducing mode by a player. Since a pickup is moved to a track outside of the track by one track each time when the pickup traces half the track, and traces the track in the triple-speed reproducing mode the pickup traces the track at a read point when the video signal of a program A is reproduced.
