Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EXTRACTING COLOR INFORMATION OUT OF CODED BLACK/WHITE FILM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59191988
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To use effectively a black/white film to record the color TV information by using a luminance frame scanner and a coded chromaticity frame scanner to reproduce a black/white film on which the luminance and the chromaticity are alternately recorded.

CONSTITUTION: The luminance information is recorded to frames 11 and 13 of a black/white film; while the coded chromaticity is recorded to frames 12 and 14 respectively. The synchronizing stripe for chromaticity information decoding signal is added to the chromaticity frames. In a reproduction mode the frames 11 and 12 are formed into images with line scanners 54 and 55 respectively, and a switch 58 is switched to the left. Thus the luminance signal y and the coded chromaticity signal are obtained from the scanners 54 and 55 respectively. When the film is pulled by a frame by a capstan, the above-mentioned relation is reversed. Therefore the switch 58 is switched to the right. The characteristics of the coded chromaticity signal 57 differ in accordance with the type of the using color coded stripe filter.
