Abstract:
PURPOSE:To efficiently cool a blade with a small amount of cooling air, by forming, in the lateral wall section of an insert member inserted in an outer sheath of a hollow blade, air holes which are communicated with a cooling air duct between the outer sheath and the insert member. CONSTITUTION:A hollow insert member 12 is fitted in the outer sheath 11 of a hollow blade, and an air hole 19 through which cooling air is jetted into a turbulent flow chamber 18 defined between the insert member 12 and the outer sheath 11 in the front end section 12a of the insert member 12. Further, the insert member 12 is formed in its lateral wall section 12c with air holes 21 which is communicated with a cooling duct 14, for jetting cooling air against the inner wall section 11c of the outer sheath 11. With this arrangement the lateral wall section of the blade may be sufficiently cooled by convection cooling and impingement cooling in combination, thereby the blade is efficiently cooled by a small amount of cooling air.
