PURPOSE: To relieve a load to be processed at the transmission side and to connect this system to various data output devices by storing an output data together with a header representing the mode of an input data in a picture memory and applying the processing suitable for the mode at readout.

CONSTITUTION: A picture data in a large capacity memory 2 controlled for input and output by a host computer 1 is transferred to a memory 4 capable of storing one page's share of picture data for output picture at the terminal side via a communication line 3 by a request of a control section of the output terminal side. A content of the header (identification code) is read by the control section 5 at readout from the memory 4, the mode of the input data is identified to operate switches 6, 7 according to the mode of the picture data, and after the data is processed in response to the mode of data by processing circuits 8a, 8b, the data is applied to an output device 11.
