Title:
SLIDING CONTACT MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS605842
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a sliding contact material having superior wear resistance by adding specified elements to an Au-Pr-Pd-Ag alloy without changing the ratio in the composition.

CONSTITUTION: To an alloy material for a sliding contact having a composition consisting of, by weight, 19W21% Au, 4W6% Pt, 44W46% Pd and 29W31% Ag are added 1W10wt% Sb and 0.5W3wt% at least one among In, Ti, Tl and Zr without changing the ratio in the composition. By adding the elements, the hardness of the alloy is increased, so the resistance of the alloy to wear during sliding along a commutator is improved. When 0.01W0.5wt% Fe group metal such as Ni is substituted for part of Sb, the grains of the alloy are made fine to further improve the wear resistance.
