PURPOSE: To produce many kinds and small quantities of castings continuously with good efficiency, by detaching a casting mold chamber from a charging means for molten metal prior to the solidification of the molten metal charged into the casting mold, connecting a casting mold chamber which is subjected to prescribed treatments at another place to said charging means and charging the molten metal.
CONSTITUTION: The inside of a holding furnace 15 for molten metal is evacuated 18 by opening a valve 16 and closing a valve 17, whereafter the valve 17 is opened and the valve 16 is closed to introduce gaseous Ar 15 into the furnace 15. The molten metal is moved upward in a supply pipe 20 by the gaseous Ar 15 introduced in the furnace until the metal arrives at Al foil 7. The extremely thin foil 7 is immediately melted with the molten metal and is forced together with the molten metal into the cavity 21. In this state, a moving type casting mold 1 wherein a casting mold chamber 2 and a movable member 2 are made integral is shifted to another place. During this time, another mold 1 of which the inside of the chamber 4 is evacuated and is repressurized with the gaseous Ar is set on the furnace 15, and the molten metal is forced into the cavity 21 by the operations similar to the above-mentioned operations. The molds 1 are moved and exchanged successively, and the castings are produced efficiently and continuously.
