PURPOSE: To contrive the suppressing of knocking occurrence with providing catalytic substance effect of the titled device by a method wherein more than one or two kinds of metallic oxide are covered on a rotor flank surface except the around of the end part of rear side in rotating direction of a combustion chamber.
CONSTITUTION: In a rotary piston engine, variable capacity working chambers 5aW5c are formed between a triangular shape rotor 4 and torocoid shape inner periphery surface 1a of a rotor housing 1. A combustion chamber 4b is formed at the central part of a rotor flank surface 4a of said rotor 4. Metallic oxide 10 is covered on said rotor flank surface 4a except the around of an end part 4c of rear side in rotating direction of said combustion chamber 4b. Said metallic oxide 10 is selected among the transition metals such as Mn, Ni, Cu, Co, Cr, Fe, Zn and the like, and utilized more than one or two kinds of metallic oxide, then covered on said flank surface 4a with flame spraying or enamel coating and the like.
