Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the solubility in a high b.p. solvent by incorporating a specified coupler.
CONSTITUTION: A coupler represented by the formula is incorporated. In the formula, A is a residue of a yellow image forming coupler such as a pivaloylacetoanilide or benzoylacetoanilide type coupler, a residue of a magenta color image forming coupler such as a 5-oxo-2-pyrazoline or pyrazolobenzimidazole type coupler, or a residue of a cyan color image forming coupler such as a coupler having a phenol or α-naphthol ring, R1 is 4W15C alkyl, R2 is 1W20C alkyl, and the total number of C atoms in R1 and R2 is 8W27. Said coupler has superior solubility in a high b.p. solvent, and a photographic emulsion is easily prepd.
