Abstract:
PURPOSE:To keep lubricating films at the state having always good lubricating characteristics by suppressing the evaporation of the lubricating films coated with many layers by two kinds of lubricating agents. CONSTITUTION:The surface and back of a magnetic disc 1 are coated with the lubricating films having two-layer structure consisting of a lubricating film composed of behenic acid of which lubricating property is lower than that of myristic acid and melting point is comparatively high and a lubricating film composed of myristic acid having high lubricating property. An evaporation source lubricating film 10 consisting of myristic acid to be easily evaporated by temperature rise and having high lubricating property is applied to the inner wall surface 9 of an airtight storage case 8 sealing the magnetic disc 1 on a base part 11. At the high speed rotation of each magnetic disc 1, the vapor pressure of lubricating agent vapor consisting of myristic acid evaporated by temperature rise due to air friction is approximately equilibrated with the vapor pressure of a circular lubricating agent evaporation consisting of myristic acid surrounding the lubricating film on the surface of each magnetic disc 1, so that the lubricating film on the surface of each magnetic disc 1 is interrupted and always good lubricating characteristics are maintained.
