Title:
APPLICATION OF HEAT AND CORROSION RESISTANT PATTERNING PAINT ONTO MAGNESIUM ALLOY MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5952569
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the long-term heat and corrosion resistance of a pattern coated surface, by applying specified silicone paint in specified film thickness onto a magnesium alloy material having the chemically converted surface and coated with a prime coating material, and then baking it.

CONSTITUTION: The surface of a magnesium alloy material A is chemically coverted with a chemical converting agent B for undercoating treatment and undercoated with epoxy primer paint to be exclusively used for a magnesium alloy in as-dried film thickness of 20W30μ. Thereafter, the heat resistant patterning paint of alkyd-modified silicone resin to which butyl carbitol is added as a thermally stable additive agent is applied in a manner such that its film thickness as undried is 80W180μ and that the average thickness of a dried film corresponding to it is 30W80μ, and then baked at a baking temp. of about 180°C for about 30min to form the layer D of the heat resistant patterning paint.
