PURPOSE: To manufacture ink having high quality by executing ion exchange and separation and capturing heavy metal ions in a dye solution in the manufacture of ink for ink jet recording, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Dye powder 22 from a supply section 21 and pure water from a pipe 26 are mixed and dissolved in a blending tank 24, and fed to a supply tank 31 through a filter 29 and further to a purifying section 41. The mixture enters into ion exchange resin columns 44-1W44-3 by operating supply valves 43-1W43-3 in succession by a command from a control section 61, heavy metal ions are separated from a dye aqueous solution by ion exchange and separation, the concentration of heavy metal ions is detected by a heavy metal ion concentration sensor 46, and the solution is discharged to a storage tank 49 through valves 48. Or the heavy metals are flowed back to the supply tank 31 by a pump 51 through valves 50. Accordingly, the dye aqueous solution from which heavy metal ions are removed, in the storage tank 49 is extracted through a valve 3, and fed for preparing ink.
