PURPOSE: To make paper for manual insertion insertable in a prescribed position by utilizing the rotation of a paper ejecting roll without increasing the size of a tray and without complication by providing a slit for manual insertion for a paper ejecting tray above a paper feed section and inserting the paper through the slit.

CONSTITUTION: A movable tray 22 is provided in the position slightly upper than a stationary tray 21, and a slitlike opening 22 is formed between both. The copying paper inserted therefrom is inserted by passing the bottom surface of the tray 22 and the lower side of a lower ejecting roll 18a. When the preceding end thereof is detected by a sensor S3, at least the roll 18 rotates in light contact with the top surface of the paper, thereby advancing the paper up to a stopper 60 part. Therefore, even if the distance from the opening 20a to the stopper 60 is long, the roll 18a advances the paper. Since the roll 18a simply advances the paper in light contact with the same, the paper which is in contact with the stopper 60 is stopped in that position. The deviated feeding is prevented by forming a guide having a projecting shape in the prescribed reference position on the top surface of a cover 58.
