Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a photoreceptor having panchromaticity applicable to both of a copying machine and a semiconductor laser printer, by using a selenium- contg. phthalocyanine type org. photoconductive semiconductor for a charge generating layer in a function separation type photosensitive layer.

CONSTITUTION: The photosensitive layer is a function separation type laminated layer, and its charge generating layer is made of a selenium-contg. phthalocyanine type org. photoconductive semiconductor. As said org. photoconductor, aluminum phthalocyanine is used, and a preferable selenium/aluminum phthalocyanine wt. ratio is ≥10/100. A preferable thickness of the charge generating layer is 0.5W5μm. A photoreceptor having such constitution is obtained by forming on an conductive substrate 1 made of aluminum, a ≥50nm thick charge generating layer CGL2 by depositing a mixture of a vapor obtd. by subliming aluminum phthalocyanine AlClPc(Cl) having chlorinated benzene rings and the vapor of selenium, and forming a 10W15μm thick charge transfer layer CTL3 by coating with a pyrazoline deriv. on the CGL2. High-sensitivity panchromaticity to ≤500nm wavelength light is obtained by adding ≥10wt% Se to the phthalocyanine type OPC vapor deposited film as CGL, and the same photosensitive layer can be used to both of a copying machine and laser printer photoreceptor.
