PURPOSE: To eliminate the use of a light pen, a joy stick, etc. and to attain free drawing by shifting a cursor after obtaining the new cursor position information from the cursor position information and the cursor shift amount information stored in a memory part.
CONSTITUTION: When a cursor is shifted by a control part 16, X0, Y0, X1, Y1, X2, Y2, DX and DY are extracted out of a memory part 15 storing a series of indication contents. Then the part 16 calculates a new cursor position (X0', Y0') on a closed area from the present cursor display position (X0, Y0), closed areas (X1, Y1) and (X2, Y2) and a cursor shift amount (DX, DY), respectively. Based on this new cursor position, a cursor display/erasion part 14 erases an old cursor and produces a new cursor. Then the cursor is shifted on a CRT monitor 13 via a CRT controller 11. At the same time, the cursor position obtained after a shift is defined as the present cursor display position and both X0 and Y0 in the part 15 are replaced.
