PURPOSE: To improve convenience in handling an object such as a soft thing, a brittle thing or a thing having many curved surfaces by giving an anisotropic and elastic characteristic to outer peripheral walls of plural number of actuating bodies fixed onto a common base.
CONSTITUTION: Since outer peripheral walls of actuating bodies 3, 5, 7 and 9 have an anisotropic and elastic characteristic, when pressure is applied to pressure chambers (301-303), (501-503), (701-703) and (901-903), the actuating bodies 3, 5, 7 and 9 are deformed elastically so that elastic deformation in the axial direction and a curved deformation in the optional direction are carried out. Thereby, by operating the plural number of actuating bodies 3, 5, 7 and 9 coordinately, the grip or the handling operation of an object can be carried out.
