Title:
MANUFACTURE OF BLADE PACKING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS596469
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a manufacturing method in which a shrinkage heat treatment is made on organic fiber at the temperature higher than the temperature for normal use after braiding process, resulting in prevention of shrinkage of a packing during use, deterioration in sealing properties, and the occurrence of break of yarn in braid, and in increase of a braiding speed. CONSTITUTION:Tension of fiber in braid is increased by a shrinkage heat treatment, and a low tension applied on fiber during braiding will suffice for braiding. Thus, no breaking of yarn occurs, and the braiding speed can be increased. Further, the braided yarn is shrunk by a heat treatment and bites into the core material, whereby knitting yarn is not deviated from the center even if a packing braid is bent. Besides, since a heat shrinkage treatment is made on the braid packing in a braiding condition at a higher temperature than that for normal use, no shrinkage occurs to the packing during use, no seizure occurs to the packing, and a joint is prevented from disjoining.
