Title:
DRUM TYPE BRAKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6040829
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve a brake effect and to prevent the generation of abnormal noise, by a method wherein bent rising retaining parts, respectively corresponding to first and second shoes, are formed at a part of a base plate, and a shoe guiding mechanism, by which the first and the second shoe are nipped between the retaining part and the flat part of the base plate is provided. CONSTITUTION:A first shoe 5, pressed against a drum 6 through rotation of a cam 2, is spun and moved in the direction of an arrow mark Z through the rotation force of a drum 6, and further, a second shoe 7 is forced into press contact with the drum 6 to produce a high braking force. A retaining part 19, bent and rising up from a base plate 1 togetherwith a projection 13, nips the first shoe 5 from both sides togetherwith the flat part of the base plate to prevent the shoe from parting from the flat part of the base plate, and a similar retaining part 20 nips the second shoe 7 in a similar manner described in the retaining part 19 togetherwith the flat part of the base plate. The shoe slides in parallel to the base plate in a gap between the retaining part and the flat part of the base plate, and this enables prevention of the occurrence of jolting of the shoes.
