PURPOSE: To insert automatically tubes in insertion of many stages and pieces of tubes into the vertical array of tube plates and baffle plates by using tube pushing rollers and rotating mechanisms for respective tubes on a base moving laterally and vertically with respect to the tube plate.
CONSTITUTION: Tubes 4 prepared by attaching guide pieces 5 at the top ends in a pretreating chamber 3 are arrayed by transfer rolls in the grooves of the rolls 30, 105 of an inserting device 6. Rolls 36, 112 are lowered to be brought into press contact with the tubes 4, and the pieces 5 are brought into the positions of holes by a lifting base 12 and a traversing base 19. The tubes 4 are successively inserted into the holes of a tube plate (f) by driving of the rolls 30, 105. When the progress of the tubes 4 is interfered, the feed is stopped, and a vertical traveling carriage 18 is retreated, then while the tubes 4 are rotated by the rolls 74, 91 of a rotating device, the carriage 18 is advanced to straighten the bends and thereafter the tubes are inserted into the holes of the plate (f). When all the tubes are inserted, the tubes are pushed by a pushing device 25, and the operation is completed. Since the operation is accomplished fully automatically, the safe and quick operation is performed.
