Title:
TURBINE WHEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6022001
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of crack, by applying by a build-up welding a material less subject to a stress corrosion cracking to an area adjacent to a keyway formed through the inner periphery of turbine wheel which has blades provided around the outer periphery thereof and a shaft received by the inner periphery thereof. CONSTITUTION:A material 10 such as a stainless steel or an inconel, etc., which shows less corbon content and is less subject to a stress corrosion cracking is applied by padding welding to the bore inner surface of wheel 6 normally formed with a Ni-Cr-Mo-V steel, after the bore inner surface is cut off by approximately 20mm.. Along with this, the same kind of material as above is applied by padding welding by about 20mm. to a keyway 6a portion, after the portion is cut off approximately by 36mm. including its depth of about 16mm.. The thickness of padding welding for the keyway 6a and the bore inner surface is determined as about 20mm., because the greatest stress concentration takes place at this thickness portion and a larger residual stress may be caused after the padding welding if applied thicker than this. This can serve to suppress the generation of crack due to a stress corrosion cracking.
