Title:
PHOTOMAGNETIC RECORDER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6032148
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase the quantity of information per bit and to secure the recording of a magnetic recording medium with high density, by changing laser light by the intensity and the time of application of a magnetic field and recording information with synchronization secured between the irradiating time of the laser light and the application time of the magnetic field.

CONSTITUTION: A magnetic disk 1 contains a magnetic layer 3 and a reflection preventing layer 4 formed on a circular transparent substrate 2. Then the disk 1 is attached to a rotary shaft 6 of a drive motor 5 with the side of the layer 3 turned upward. A photomagnetic head 10 is moved in the radius direction of the disk 1 at a prescribed speed. Laser light generators 11 and 12 produce the laser light, and a modulator 13 controls the irradiating time and its interval in accordance with the recorded information. A polarized beam splitter 14 connects both laser beams which are orthogonal to each other so that they are irradiated in the same direction. A magnetic field control circuit 17 controls the value and application time of the current which is supplied to an electromagnet 16 to obtain synchronization between the irradiating time of record laser light and the application time of the magnetic field. Thus it is possible to increase the quantity of information per bit and to perform recording with a magnetic recording medium with high density.
