PURPOSE: To effectively damp the damping and the sectional vibration of the vibrating section of a loudspeaker and improve the frequency characteristic and the transient characteristic, by fixedly installing a holder in almost parallel to the diaphragm and a soft porous body between the holder and the diaphragm.

CONSTITUTION: The outer periphery of a diaphragm 6 of a cone type loudspeaker 1 is supported by a frame 11 through an edge 7 and the central part of the diaphragm 6 is supported by a damper 8. An acoustic resistor 12 is installed on the back of the diaphragm 6 and the resistor 12 is constituted with a plate- like holder 13 having numerous holes 13a which are almost parallel to the diaphragm 6 and a soft porous body 14. The resistor 12 is fixed to the frame 11, etc., with a fitting tool, so that the opposite side face of the soft porous body 14 touches the back or the front of the diaphragm 6. Then, the damping and sectional vibration of the vibrating section of the speaker 1 are effectively damped, and the frequency characteristic and the transient characteristic are improved.
