PURPOSE: To obtain the gelcoat layer excellent in hot water resisting property by curing the surface coated gelcoat resin at the state where said coated surface is isolated from air by an insulating film.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a mold 3 is coated uniformly and thinly with the mold release agent such as wax, and then said surface is uniformly coated with the gelcoat resin such as unsaturated polyester resin by a brush or a spray, whereby a coated layer 1 is molded. After the gelcoat layer has been semicured, an air isolating film is molded on the surface of the layer 1 coated with gelcoat resin, thereby isolating the layer 1 coated with gelcoat resin from air. Accordingly, said gelcoat resin is easily cured without the bad influence of air, and perfectly cured gelcoat layer 1 may be obtained. The resin for casting is cast and laminated on the gelcoat layer, and consequently the life of a product may be prolonged.
