PURPOSE: To obtain a fireproof cable whose wires can be butt twisted and pair-twisted and also whose end processing is easy, by inserting into a metal pipe single wire or stranded wires applied with insulation, and elongating compressingly the metal pipe so as to eliminate a space between the wires and the metal pipe.

CONSTITUTION: A wire 7 whose fireproof layer 5 is formed by winding a mica tape over a conductor 4, is made, and then, one wire 7 or stranded wires are inserted into a metal pipe 8 of copper or stainless steel or the like. And the diameter of the pipe 8 is squeezed in by elongating compressingly the pipe 8 by means of a die or rolls 12, and an inside space between the pipe 8 and the wires 7 is eliminated. As a result, a conductor is not exposed even at end processing, and easy handling becomes possible, and also the pair twisting of wires 7 is possible, and effective measures to an electromagnetic noise become possible, too.
