PURPOSE: To obtain a sufficient deflection current without a ringing by providing a ringing suppression circuit effective to the ringing induced in a windup winding.

CONSTITUTION: A horizontal output switching transistor (TR)1, a damper diode 2, a resonance capacitor 3, a horizontal output transformer 4, a horizontal deflection coil 5, and a correcting capacitor 6 perform the same operation and function as a conventional circuit other than the ringing suppression circuit. A rectifier diode 9 acts like a damper diode using a floating power supply capacitor 7 as a power supply at the first half of the scanning period, i.e., the damper period so as to suppress the ringing. A DC bypass resistance 8 acts to decrease the resonance Q by the windup winding N2 and a floating power supply capacitor 7, and a buffer resistor 10 prevents the oscillation when the rectifier diode 9 goes to the outside of the period operating as the damper diode in this case.
