PURPOSE: To heat or cool a room effectively in a time band under an adverse condition with heat which has been accumulated in the time band under a favorable condition by a method wherein a heat pump and a solar heat collector are connected to a common heat accumulating tank respectively, in the room cooling and heating device utilizing both of the heat pump and the solar heat collector.
CONSTITUTION: Room heating operation is effected by operating the heat pump 4 usually. In case the heat of the heat pump is insufficient, the heat accumulated in the heat accumulating tank 12 by the solar heat collector 24 in a day time under a good condition is circulated to a heat exchanger 17, opposingly provided to the second heat exchanger 3, and thereby increasing the supplying amount of heat of the heat pump and supplying it to the terminal heat exchanger 8. On the other hand, in case of the room cooling, a cold heat, being accumulated in a night time of a low atmospheric temperatue into the heat accumulating tank 12 beforehand is supplied to the second heat exchanger 3 in a hot day time or the like to increase the cooling capacity of the heat pump 4 and supply it to the terminal heat exchanger 8.
