Abstract:
PURPOSE:To realize control reduced in weight and error, by using a shape memory alloy for both a solar sensor and an actuator. CONSTITUTION:Coil springs 9 (9a-9d...) are made of an alloy having a thermal shape memory effect. When the coil springs are heated, the distortion is reduced and a spring constant is increased. When the temperature is dropped, the coil springs are softened and extended, so that the distortion is increased. Since insulating walls 10(10a-10d...) are set up between plural coil springs arranged circumferentially, heat and light from the sun are irradiated only by two or three coil springs out of many coil springs. Therefore, the coil springs arranged in the direction of the sun are compressed. Consequently, a rotational part to which solar battery paddles are fitted is always turned to the sun.
