PURPOSE: To obtain a polymer powder excellent in powder properties without stoppage of a nozzle, by feeding a coagulant in the same direction as that of the latex stream and in the upward direction vertical to that of the latex stream, in coagulating a polymer latex by discharging it through a nozzle to a coagulation tank.
CONSTITUTION: A coagulation tank 1 is provided with a latex discharge nozzle 2, a coagulant feed means 3 for feeding a coagulant in the same direction as that of the polymer latex discharged from the discharge nozzle 2 and a coagulant feed means 4 for feeding a coagulant in the upward direction vertical to that of the polymer latex stream. While the coagulant is fed into the coagulation tank 1 from coagulant feed means 3 and 4, the polymer latex is discharged from discharge nozzle 2 and coagulated. The coagulate is discharged from an overflow 5 and thransferred to a coagulation tank 9. In this way, the stream of the coagulant near the discharge nozzle is not obstructed, association of the coagulants does not occur, and the stoppage of nozzle 2 can be prevented.
