Title:
SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC EMULSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04110935
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a high sensitivity and to decrease fogging by executing a part or the whole of a nucleus formation and/or crystal growth process in the presence of a hardly gelatinizable dispersion medium having a protective colloidal property and specifying the content of the hardly gelatinizable dispersion medium incorporated into a silver halide emulsion at the time of chemical sensitization to a specific content or below.

CONSTITUTION: The silver halide particles are prepd. by executing the nucleus formation and/or crystal growth process in the presence of the hardly gelatinizable dispersion medium having the protective colloidal property. The content of the hardly gelatinizable dispersion medium incorporated into the silver halide emulsion at the time of chemical sensitization is confined to ≤14g/1mol silver. Further, the silver halide particles are subjected to a washing treatment by a dialysis method or coagulation method, etc., after the end of the crystal growth of these particles, by which a part or the whole of the hardly gelatinizable dispersion medium is removed. Other dissolved matter mainly consisting of salts is preferably removed simultaneously with the hardly gelatinizable dispersion medium by executing this treatment. The decreased fogging and the higher sensitivity are sufficiently attained in this way.
