PURPOSE: To provide the titled preventive and remedying agent applicable to the patient affected together with cardiovascular diseases, by using 1,4:3,6-dianhydro- D-glucytol dinitrate as an active component.

CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula (general name: isosorbide dinitrate) known as a remedy and preventive for stenocardia, myocardial infarction and coronary arteriosclerosis, is used as an active component. The compound is effective to improve the pulmonary function of a patient of asthma (forced expiration capacity, respiratory resistance, and vital capacity), and the subjective symptoms such as dyspnea and expectoration. Dose: usually 1W50mg, preferably 5W20mg daily for adult by oral or parenteral administration.
