Abstract:
PURPOSE:To elongate the life of a drive force transmission member by attenuating vibration caused by torsion of a cam shaft in a valve mechanism of an internal combustion engine with a torsional damper unit attached to a driven rotor of the cam shaft. CONSTITUTION:A cam shaft gear 3 as a driven rotor fixed to an end of a cam shaft 1 is rotated through a chain 2 by the rotation of a crankshaft and constituted from a tubular boss 4 fixedly fitted onto the cam shaft 1, a plate-like arm 5 extending radially outward from the outer periphery of one end of the boss and a rim 6 provided continuously on the outer peripheral end of said arm 5 and provided on the outer peripheral surface with a plurality of teeth 7. And a torsional damper unit integrating an inner annular member 9 and an annular conic body 11 through an elastic connecting body 10 is disposed on the outer periphery of the boss 4 inside the rim 6. Also, an annular regulating member 12 is fixed to the plate-like arm 5 to surround the annular conic body 11.
