Title:
CLEANING DEVICE OF ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC COPYING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6022169
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remove effectively a residual toner and powder of a transfer paper by providing a conductive brush which is set to a float state electrically for the purpose of removing the residual toner from the surface of a recording medium charged electrostatically with a precleaning electrifier.

CONSTITUTION: A conductive brush 38 is set to a float state electrically, and the surface of a photosensitive body 10 is charged electrostatically with the same polarity (+) as the polarity of electrostatic charge of the photosensitive body 10 by a precleaning electrifier 36. Consequently, since the same positive polarity is induced in the brush 38, the cleaning capability of the brush 38 is improved considerably by this induced voltage, and the burden due to a cleaning blade 40 is reduced considerably. The voltage induced in the brush 38 is charged in accordance with the proportion of a black (picture) part to a white part of an original 14. Not only the toner remaining on the photosensitive body but also powder of the transfer paper which is generated when an original having a thick white part is copied are removed effectively.
