PURPOSE: To remove color misregistration of a print due to irregular recording sheet feeding speed by driving a plurality of platens by directly engaging the platens with the outer peripheral surface of rotary rolls driven at the prescribed speed.
CONSTITUTION: A recording sheet 17 in a cassette 22 is fed through a feeding mechanism 23 and guide roller pair R to a thermal head 3 and is supplied to between a platen 7 rotated in direct frictional engagement with the outer peripheral surface of a mtal roll 2 rotating at the prescribed peripheral speed and an ink film 19 fed from the supply side reel 20 of the cassette 18 through guide rollers 15, 16 to takeup side reel 21. Then, the heating resistor 11 of a thermal head 13 is pressed in contact through the sheet 17 and the film 19 on the platen 7 to record information and the sheet 17 is fed at the same speed as the peripheral speed of the platen 7. Similarly, the sheet is fed through the platens 8W10 and thermal heads 4W6 to print multiple colors, and the sheet is exhausted to an exhausted sheet retainer 24.
