Title:
FUEL REFORMING TYPE CATALYTIC BURNER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59176510
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable smooth ignition of all types of gas during rising, by constituting a burner such that reformed gas is fed to a catalyst, or it passes through without reforming reaction as it is and is fed to a mat heated during the primary stage of ignition to burn it.

CONSTITUTION: A burner is provided with a fuel reforming device 5, an oxidizing catalytic mat 3, a blast fan 15 and a mixer 16, and the fuel, which is caused to pass through the fuel reforming device 5, is fed to the oxidizing catalytic mat 3. Further, an electric resistance wire 8 for preheating the oxidizing catalytic mat is located at the inside of the oxidizing catalytic mat 3 or at the inside of the fuel diffusing mat 7 adjoining to the back of the oxidizing catalytic mat 3. When the fuel is reformed by a fuel reforming device 5, it is energized as it is, and when the fuel is not reformed, it is energized during ignition. A main object of a fuel reformation type catalytic burner is that, in a low temperature catalyst combustion (lower than 500°C) intended for methane which is hardest to oxidize, it is reformed into inorganic gas consisting of mainly hydrogen to burn it, but in addition to the above, a device is adapted to the usable in gas, such as 6B, 6C, which is in no need of reformation.
