PURPOSE: To reduce the power consumption of a communication equipment while securing the continuous communication, by operating at a normal level when the level of transmitting signal is higher than a designated level, then lowering the output level when the transmitting signal level is lower than the designated level.

CONSTITUTION: A comparator 10 compares the level of the transmitting signal TS detected by a signal detecting circuit 9 with the reference voltage given from a reference voltage generating circuit 8. When the level of the transmitting signal is high, a control circuit 7 actuates a transmitter 2 with a normal high frequency output level. When the transmitting signal level is lower than the reference voltage, the circuit 7 lowers the high frequency output level of the transmitter 2 by several to several tens decibels to reduce the power consumption of the transmitter 2. The power consumption is further reduced by controlling the output level of the transmitter 2 together with a transmitting low frequency circuit 1.
