PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of yarn quality of spun yarns caused by the unnecessary pressure contact and rotation of a package with a friction roll, by means of an apparatus for separating a wound package from the friction roll in the case of yarn breakage or a full package provided in a winding apparatus for the spun yarns.
CONSTITUTION: A sliver is drafted, passed through an air jetting nozzle and spun to give a spun yarn, which is then wound into a package. In the process, a proximity switch 23 of a yarn ending car 16 passing by a tilted iron piece 22 when the winding diameter of a pakage 12 is increased and a cradle 21 is tilted to reach the iron piece 22 at a given angle. A kicker 24 provided on the yarn ending car 16 is protruded to push a yarn (Y) from a slub catcher 11, and the yarn (Y) is cut by signals from the slub catcher 11. A solenoid 41 in a disconnecting apparatus is demagnetized by the signals at the same time, and an attracting plate 40 is separated from the solenoid 41 to rotate a arm 38 and tilt a cradle 21 by a given angle. Thus, the package 12 is separated from the friction roll 25.
