PURPOSE: To provide an impact-resistant thermoplastic resin compsn. having excellent processability, transparency and appearance, consisting of a specified graft copolymer and a methyl methacrylate/styrene copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: Styrene (A), methyl methacrylate (B), an alkyl acrylate (C) and 0.01W5pts.wt. polymerizable crosslinking agent are copolymerized with a latex having an average particle size of 0.1W0.5μ contg. 40W80pts.wt. butadiene polymer or butadiene/styrene copolymer rubber mainly composed of butadiene to obtain a butadiene/styrene/methyl methacrylate/alkyl acrylate graft copolymer. Components A, B and C are used in such quantities that the combined quantity of components A, B and C and the rubber of the latex is 100pts.wt. The relative proportion of components A, B and C is such that component A is 20W65wt%, component B is 20W70wt% and component C is 1W35wt%. The titled compsn. consists of 1W50pts.wt. said graft copolymer and 99W50pts.wt. methyl methacrylate/styrene copolymer composed of 40W80wt% methyl methacrylate and 60W 20wt% styrene.
