Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an alignment with high precision by a method wherein a member set up for welding is subject to an optimum adjustment for alignment of optical axis before performing a resistance welding. CONSTITUTION:An optical device 17 e.g. a base 6a of a laser diode is set up on a lower electrode 2 to be fixed on a specified position. Besides a case 6b of the optical device 17 is fixed on an engaging hole 4a of an electrode chip 4 by engagement. Firstly an electrode holder 9 is lowered to be stopped on a position whereon the base 6a and the case 6b are pressurized to make them slightly abut against with each other. Secondly with a switch 15 turned ON, a semiconductor element mounted on the base 6a is supplied with power from a DC power supply 16 to emit light. This light is inputted into an optical device 17 through a light permeable element of the case 6b and the device 17 generates electric energy proportional to the input optical energy to be supplied for an amplifier 21. When the case 6b is moved in the direction X, Y, the strength of energy output from said device 17 may be fluctuated to align an optical axis making use of the fluctuation of the energy strength.
