Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce industrially advantageously a high-modulus rubber compsn., by drying a hydrated rubber contg. a high-melting isotactic poly-α-olefin under specified conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrated rubber such as polyisoprene rubber contg. a high- melting isotactic poly-α-olefin having a m.p. of 150W240°C such as isotactic polypropylene or poly (4-methyl-1-pentene), is extruded through a screw type extruding dryer equipped with a die such as an expansion dryer with heating under pressure, whereby said rubber is ejected through the die and the said pressure is instantaneously reduced to atmospheric pressure to evaporate water and to dry the rubber, thus producing a high-modulus rubber compsn.
