Title:
CLEANING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5844477
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform efficient cleaning at a relatively low speed by providing electrodes, applied with a voltage of the opposite polarity to charged toner, in a flocked sleeve and to a metallic roller for recovery.

CONSTITUTION: In a flocked sleeve 2 for cleaning, fixed electrodes 3 are provided at fine intervals, and are applied with a voltage of the opposite polarity to charged nonmagnetic toner 5. Therefore, residual toner 5 on a recording medium 1 is attracted to the sleeve 2 by Coulomb force at the opposite part to the electrodes 3, carried through the rotation of the sleeve, and attracted to and passed to a metallic roller 4, applied with a voltage of the opposite polarity, where the influence of the electrodes 3 is eliminated to be scraped off by a blade 6, thereby colecting it in a container 7. The toner is passed by utilizing the Coulomb force, so efficient cleaning is carried out.
